Thermilate Featured on BBC

Cleaned the tubes and sandpapered them and put them through some baths and painted one set of tubes with special insulating paint. Please note: I do not know yet if this paint will hold in the cell so that’s why we did only one set of tubes so others can be used todo the more convencional calcium oxide layer.

A special nano-molecular thermal insulating paint called Temp-Coat was applied to the inside of all exterior walls and ceilings of the solar test home. Adding R-20 to each surface, the energy performace of the home was improved by an additional 8% (the paint was applied AFTER the installation of new windows, doors, HVAC, and R-60 attic insulation).
